Two wheeled enabled crime
Our proactive work to tackle the illegal use of eScooters and eBikes continues to deliver results across Cambridge.
Since the launch of the operation, officers have seized more than 400 illegal eScooters and eBikes, helping to make our roads, footpaths and public spaces safer for everyone. Through targeted patrols, intelligence-led policing and enforcement activity in hotspot areas, neighbourhood officers are identifying and disrupting those using these vehicles unlawfully.
Importantly, this work is about far more than seizing vehicles. Encounters with riders regularly lead officers to uncover wider criminality, including the possession of drugs and weapons, wanted individuals, driving offences, and links to theft and anti-social behaviour. By stopping and engaging with riders, officers are able to identify those involved in criminal activity and take positive action.
The operation also provides opportunities to educate riders about the law, promote safe and responsible use of electric-powered transport, and address concerns raised by residents about nuisance riding and dangerous behaviour.

Knife crime
Officers have been actively tackling knife crime through Op Guardian, focusing on early intervention with young people at risk of harm or serious youth violence.
Work has centred on prevention, supporting families, reducing incidents and protecting communities while building trust with those most affected. A number of knives and weapons have also been seized.
Targeted action is helping to reduce the severity and frequency of offences, alongside stronger partnerships with schools, youth organisations and safeguarding leads to deliver a coordinated, long-term approach.
