I am the South Area Commander, with responsibility for policing across Cambridge City, South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, and East Cambridgeshire, working closely with communities and partners to keep people safe.
I have been a police officer for 24 years and have worked in Cambridgeshire my whole career. I have been fortunate to hold a wide range of operational and leadership roles, including frontline neighbourhood policing, response policing, custody management, and partnership-based prevention work.
Over the last two years I have served as Superintendent / Head of Prevention and Custody, where I’ve helped shape neighbourhood policing, police custody, and multi-agency work with councils, health services, and voluntary organisations. My recent work has included oversight of anti-social behaviour action plan, neighbourhood guarantee, hotspot action fund, serious violence reduction duty, mental health demand, youth justice, and safeguarding vulnerable people.
As South Area Commander, I want to make a positive and lasting difference by ensuring policing remains focused on the needs of local communities. I am committed to responding quickly when you need us, being visible and accessible. I am committed to listening to residents and to addressing the issues that matter most to people where they live. I believe that prevention, early intervention, and strong local relationships are key to keeping communities safe, building trust, and improving confidence in policing.
I currently lead the Neighbourhood Policing teams across the Southern Policing Area of Cambridgeshire Constabulary. My portfolio includes oversight of dedicated teams in East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Cambridge City, where I lead a committed group of inspectors, sergeants, police constables and PCSOs focused on tackling crime and building stronger, safer communities.
I began my policing career in Peterborough and then spent 15 years in specialist operations, including Armed Policing, Roads Policing, Dog Unit and Operational Support, interspersed with operational leadership roles across all ranks within the Southern Area of the county. This breadth of experience has given me a strong operational foundation and a clear understanding of how specialist capabilities and neighbourhood policing work best when they are fully aligned.
Community policing remains at the heart of what I want to achieve. I passionately believe that the most effective way to prevent crime, protect the vulnerable and reduce harm is through close collaboration with communities, local authorities and partner agencies. My teams are focused on delivering visible, proactive and intelligence led policing, with a relentless focus on prevention, problem solving and meeting victims’ needs.
While the challenges facing our communities continue to evolve, one thing remains constant: the public expects a police service that is responsive, fair and compassionate. I am proud to lead officers and staff who demonstrate those values every day.
I remain fully committed to creating a safer Cambridgeshire and to ensuring neighbourhood policing continues to sit at the heart of everything we do — creating safer spaces for people to live, work and enjoy their communities, supported by engaged and visible policing teams who prevent harm and pursue those who cause it.
I lead four dedicated teams of police officers covering the city centre and west, north, east, and south wards of Cambridge. Together, we focus on making our communities safer, more resilient, and better connected through effective, visible, and compassionate policing.
I’ve served in Cambridgeshire Constabulary since 2009, and in that time, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to the people who live and work here. Before taking on my current role, I spent more than four years as a neighbourhood Sergeant in the north of the city, an experience that cemented my belief in the power of being approachable, visible, engaging and listening, and that neighbourhood policing can be a proactive force for positive change.
Community policing is a commitment. By working in partnership with local residents, businesses, schools, and partner agencies to tackle the root causes of crime and anti-social behaviour, I have experienced first-hand how strong relationships between local officers and the communities they work in, can lead to real improvements in people’s day-to-day lives. Whether it’s supporting vulnerable individuals, addressing concerns raised by local people, or making sure our streets remain safe and welcoming, I’m passionate about delivering policing that is responsive, respectful, and inclusive.
Cambridge is a unique and diverse city, and I remain committed to encouraging my team to remain approachable, accountable, and to constantly improve how we work together for a safer city.
I have been a Police Officer with Cambridgeshire Constabulary since 2013, where I have worked in various roles. These include response policing, neighbourhoods and various proactive roles. Through working in various roles I have gained a broad depth of knowledge and experience, particularly in tackling crime.
I am the Sergeant of the Spree Offender Team working in the South of the County. I am responsible for the operational implementation of the team and the work we do. We focus on identifying prolific offenders and carrying out enforcement to bring these offenders to justice. We work with various partner agencies to tackle these issues holistically and effectively engage with our communities to reduce the harm this kind of offending causes for them.
The Spree Offender Team also utilises civil orders, such as Criminal Behaviour Orders. These can be an effective tool when tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.
I am the neighbourhood officer for King’s Hedges and West Chesterton wards.
I joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 2004 and after the first two years I moved into investigations dealing with volume crime both in Cambridge city and then in the rural areas of South Cambs and Ely. I then decided to move into the specialist roles of child abuse, adult abuse, sexual offences and child sexual exploitation, where I stayed for a few years.
Following promotion in 2018 I returned to uniform policing as a response sergeant at March, where I worked for a year before moving to Huntingdon and finally back to Parkside.
Over my time I have gained a wide range of experience in various policing situations as well as dealing with some of the most vulnerable people we have in our community.
In 2022 I moved to the Cambridge neighbourhood team as the Sergeant for the City South area. I built up a good relationship with counsellors and partner agencies to problem solve issues within the area. I now take on a new challenge of Sergeant for the City Centre and City West area. This is an exciting opportunity to deal with new challenges and have a direct input into ensuring that Cambridge city remains a great and safe place to work and visit.
I joined Cambridgeshire police in 2020. Once I completed training, I was posted in Cambridge city on response. This initial phase of policing exposed me to a variety of different incidents and gave me a solid foundation. I then spent some time working in East Cambs, where I honed my skills as a response officer. In East Cambs, I was also able to explore the proactive side of policing and quickly knew it was an area of focus for me and something I really enjoyed.
I have been on the Spree Offender Team since it was set up in 2023. I am committed to targeting an array of spree offenders and making a difference where possible to our communities. I work closely with retailers and the probation service to ensure I am achieving the best outcomes. I work alongside neighbourhoods and the acquisitive crime team. Furthermore, I successfully obtain robust, CBO’S for the most prolific offenders in the south of the county.
I am the neighbourhood officer for Market, Castle and Eddington wards.
I started my policing career in Cambridge city as a response officer in 2008. A year later, I moved over to East Cambs, where I spent a few years building my experience in a different environment. In 2013, I took the opportunity to move to South Cambs, where I stayed for five years.
In 2018, I returned to Cambridge city — back to where it all began. After 12 years on response, I decided it was time for a change and took on the challenge of a completely different style of policing.
Five years later, I’m still with the neighbourhood team, and I now look after retail crime in Cambridge city centre. As the single point of contact for retail crime, I work closely with businesses, security teams, and partner agencies to tackle persistent offending and reduce shoplifting and related crime.
One of the initiatives I developed is the South Nominals Gallery — a shared tool that helps identify prolific shoplifters and enables better communication between police and retailers. I’m passionate about problem-solving and proactive policing, and I strongly believe that collaboration is the key to long-term results. Whether it’s working with local shops, business improvement districts, or council teams, partnership working is at the heart of what I do. My goal is always the same: to reduce harm, support businesses, and help make Cambridge city centre a safer place for everyone.
I am the neighbourhood officer for Market and Castle wards.
I have been a police officer for five years, spending two years on response, one in the investigations team and the past two with the neighbourhood team.
I was drawn to neighbourhood policing as I love problem solving and wanted to be in a department where I had the time, expertise and experience around me to help me solve issues over the long term.
My primary role in the team is handling of youth anti-social behaviour in the city centre. The issues I tackle can vary from disruptive behaviour to violent offences, to exploitation of young people. My main role within that is disruption and enforcement but also working with partnership agencies to understand the young people in the city. This can include extensive work around what the young persons home life is like, what support they have, and what we can put in place to change the behaviour.
My other role within the department is disability and complex health engagement. This stems from my experience growing up with my brother who has learning difficulties. This role was a passion project for me when I joined neighbourhoods. It entails meeting and speaking with members of our communities who have disabilities or complex health needs. I primarily look to discuss what issues they may have, either with communicating with the Police or local issues, and answer any questions they may have about the police.
I am very proud to be a part of the team focused on keeping our wonderful and unique city safe and welcoming for all.
I joined the police in 2020 where began my career in response policing. Here, I gained valuable experience dealing with a wide range of incidents in a fast-paced environment. After 2 years on response policing, I moved into investigations, where I developed a wide range of valuable and transferable skills.
In September 2023, I joined the Spree Offender Team, investigating crimes committed all over Cambridge including, St Neots, Ely, Cambridge, St Neots and St Ives. This role has allowed me the opportunity to engage daily with local stakeholders and members of the community and to gain a greater understanding about the issues being faced by the. Within this role I focus on the individuals who commit a significant amount of crime in a short period of time.
Neighbourhood policing has allowed me to build strong community relationships with the people we serve.
I am the neighbourhood officer for Newnham and Market wards.
I became a PC in 2021 having spent 13 years working as a PCSO, gaining more than seventeen years of experience in neighbourhood policing – all in Cambridge city centre. I have had the privilege of serving a diverse and vibrant community over this time, and as a result I have a good knowledge and understanding of the city, the people who use it, and the issues that the communities within it face.
As a key part of my role, I focus on reducing anti-social behaviour and supporting the city’s street life community. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with local residents, partner agencies, and community organisations, working together to address the root causes of crime and vulnerability.
A large part of my role involves joint problem-solving with partner services – including housing providers, outreach teams, mental health professionals and local authorities. Together we aim to create sustainable solutions to reduce anti-social behaviour and support individuals.
My work with the street life community is something I am particularly passionate about. Many of the individuals I engage with are dealing with complex challenges, including addiction, homelessness, poor mental health and trauma, and I strive to offer a policing approach that is both compassionate and consistent.
I’m proud to play a part in creating safer, more supportive communities in Cambridge. My approach to policing is rooted in visibility, empathy and partnership – principles that continue to guide me in every aspect of my job.
I am the neighbourhood officer for Market and Newnham wards.
I have proudly served as a Police Constable with the team for the past ten years. My role focuses on building strong, positive relationships with the local community and partner agencies to deliver effective, long-term solutions to issues affecting the safety and wellbeing of residents, visitors, and businesses in one of the busiest parts of the city.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive community engagement, with a particular emphasis on early intervention, problem-solving, and collaborative working. One of my key responsibilities has been managing the Street life community– a vital space where local residents, businesses, and police can share concerns, exchange information, and work together to address emerging problems. Through consistent, open communication, I’ve helped to strengthen community cohesion and foster a greater sense of shared responsibility for local safety.
A significant area of focus for me has been tackling pickpocketing and theft-related offences in the city centre. Working closely with local businesses, CCTV operators, BID teams, and other forces, I have led and supported intelligence-led operations to target prolific offenders, raise public awareness, and enhance crime prevention measures. This collaborative approach has contributed to notable reductions in offences and improved public confidence.
I remain committed to making Cambridge city centre a safe, welcoming place for everyone and to using innovative, partnership-led approaches to address both long-standing and emerging issues in the community.
I joined the police in 2018 as a police constable, having previously served as a PCSO with Cambridgeshire Constabulary. I spent my first 18 months on response learning the fundamentals of policing. During this time, I spent several months attached to a team tackling knife crime and other serious street based violence.
In 2019, I joined a proactive drugs team. This team was dedicated to tackling county lines drug supply in Cambridgeshire. Here, I was able to develop a better understanding of what it takes to tackle drug supply and disrupting organised crime on the streets of Cambridge.
In 2022, I joined Cambridge City neighbourhoods, covering the East of the city. This role allowed me to focus on a specific area of the City, managing a variety of issues. Here, I was able to develop a further understanding of the safeguarding element of policing, as well as the benefits of working closely with residents in the community and partnership working with other local authorities.
In 2024, I joined the Spree Offender Team. This role has allowed me to draw on all of my previous experience, proactively arresting wanted people, safeguarding the vulnerable and partnership working.
I first joined the police in 2009, but my career as a Police Officer began in 2014 where I spent eight years on response. As cliché as it is to say, no two days were ever the same and those years flew by. Wanting to try something new, and a chance to work on a passion of mine, I changed roles to become the Casualty Reduction Officer for the Constabulary between 2022 and 2025, specialising in Road Safety as part of the Vision Zero Partnership.
One of the best parts of that role was speaking to young drivers as they begin their journey into their driving. Wanting to expand on the work I did in schools beyond road safety, I then started my new role in August 2025 as the Safer Schools Officer covering Cambridge City. It’s an exciting role working within schools. I work closely with safeguarding staff to make sure every young person gets the support they need. The total number of students that I offer support to is around 14,000, so it’s a busy role!
The Safer Schools Partnership is about helping to keep young people safe by helping them understand the risks of certain choices and how to keep their community a safe place for everyone. This is done by being visible and accessible to all students, offering education, interventions and support, in turn helping to safeguard and prevent offending in the future. Some of the important topics include online safety, the dangers of drugs, county lines, exploitation and knife crime, and of course, road safety!
