Do you have a passion for inspiring others and encouraging youngsters to become more than they thought was possible?
If so, then you might make a great volunteer leader for our police cadets.
Working with youngsters aged 13 to 18, you will be volunteering your time each week to help children from a mix of backgrounds.
Some of these teenagers will be aspiring to become police officers while others may have joined to help their own development and life skills.
We aim to take a percentage of vulnerable youngsters who may have difficult backgrounds or be heading on the wrong path. Others join because they have come from policing families.
We are looking for people from all walks of life, who have different skills and life experiences, to be leaders.
If you enjoy working with young people and nurturing their confidence then get in touch.

If you are over 18 years of age and you’re wondering if you’re the right person for the job or you’ve got concerns about the vetting process get in touch and we will contact you.

If you’ve already expressed an interest and had the initial chat, this is the next step. It’s a lengthy process as you’d expect when you are going to volunteer with young people, so begin the process here.
Due to safeguarding checks and vetting, the time from application to being offered a voluntary leader role can be up to six months. This is to ensure we protect and safeguard cadets.
Following application approval, the next stage is a DBS check. Once you receive this, you can begin your new volunteer role.
If vetting concerns you, we can give guidance on how this will affect the application.
