Your neighbourhood policing team
Our officers work closely with community leaders and residents, listening to you to act on information and help rectify the issues that matter to you most. Your local team are there to protect, gather information and reduce crime in your community and the wider area.
Consisting of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) under the command of an Inspector, the Neighbourhood teams are supported by additional officers from across the wider area, including Neighbourhood Support Teams.

Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below priorities for your local neighbourhood policing team in Peterborough city centre for July to September 2026 are:
- Targeting anti-social behaviour on the Embankment and in Rivergate
- Protecting people in public spaces in the City CentreAction taken:
The City Centre Team has continued to focus activity against the quarterly priorities of ASB in North Westgate, Protecting People in Public Places, and Targeting ASB on the Embankment and Rivergate areas.
During the first six weeks of delivery, performance data indicates a positive reduction across several key crime categories within the city centre (compared with the same period last year). Violent offences have reduced by 4.9%, sexual offences by 55%, arson and criminal damage by 26.7%, and public order offences by 21.6%. Whilst reporting has increased in some areas, resulting in rises in theft offences and knife possession, the overall picture remains encouraging, with total recorded crime reducing by 4% across the city centre.
This reduction has been supported by a proactive policing, combining visible enforcement with targeted activity. Key activity delivered during this period includes:
•Execution of both domestic and commercial warrant activity to disrupt criminality.
•High-visibility patrols across hotspot locations to deter offending, provide reassurance, and increase engagement opportunities.
•Plain-clothed operations targeting prolific offenders and those involved in anti-social behaviour.
•Arrests of prolific shoplifters responsible for significant harm to local businesses.
•Arrests of individuals causing the highest levels of harm within the community.
•Proactive enforcement of outstanding warrants, prison recalls, and other wanted persons.
•Ongoing engagement with city centre communities, businesses, partner agencies, and residents to identify concerns and develop problem-solving opportunities.The team remains committed to maintaining momentum throughout the remainder of the quarter, continuing to focus resources on the agreed priorities whilst responding to emerging crime trends and community concerns.
