Our officers work closely with community leaders and residents, listening to you to act on information and help rectify the issues that matter to you most. Your local team are there to protect, gather information and reduce crime in your community and the wider area.
Consisting of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) under the command of an Inspector, the Neighbourhood teams are supported by additional officers from across the wider area, including Neighbourhood Support Teams.
Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below priorities for your local neighbourhood policing team across central Peterborough for April to June 2026:
- Street level drug dealing.
- High visibility presence targeting ASB & street violence
- Identifying opportunities for youth diversion.
Issued 24 March 2026
- Street level drug dealing
Officers have conducted a number of stop-searches in the Lincoln Road area, locating drugs. In one example, 20 wraps of class A drugs were seized from a man already known to police who was also linked to another operation.
- High visibility presence targeting ASB and street violence
High-visibility patrols have been carried out by our PCSO within the Millfield area. As a result of this, a wanted man was detained, intelligence was gathered and numerous engagements took place with shopkeepers, shoppers and other members of the public.
- Identifying opportunities for youth diversion.
In April a knife crime awareness presentation and workshop was delivered to about 40 children. This was delivered in partnership with Peterborough United Football Club and the Premier League Kicks Project. The workshop focussed on the dangers and consequences of carrying knives.
