I currently lead the Neighbourhood Policing teams across the Southern Policing area of Cambridgeshire Constabulary. My portfolio includes oversight of our dedicated teams in East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Cambridge City, where I lead a group of committed inspectors, sergeants, PCs and PCSOs focused on tackling crime and building stronger, safer communities.

My policing career began more than two decades ago, and I’ve proudly served the people of Cambridgeshire ever since. When I joined the force as a constable I spent some of the most formative years of my career as a Community Beat Manager in Peterborough, that’s old money for Neighbourhood Policing Officer. That experience grounded me in the values that still guide my approach today — visibility, approachability, engagement, problem solving and listening to the concerns of local people. It’s where I learned that building trust isn’t just a part of policing; it is policing.

Community policing is something I’m deeply passionate about. I firmly believe that the most effective way to prevent crime and protect the vulnerable is by working closely with residents, local authorities, and partner agencies. My team and I are focused on delivering proactive, intelligence-led policing that is rooted in engagement, prevention, and problem-solving.

Over the years, I’ve seen the challenges faced by our communities evolve, but what remains constant is the public’s desire for a police service that is responsive, fair, and compassionate. I’m proud to lead officers who embody those values every day.

I remain committed to Creating a Safer Cambridgeshire and to ensuring neighbourhood policing continues to be at the heart of everything we do.

I joined policing in 2006, beginning my career in response policing, where I developed a solid foundation in front-line service. These early years exposed me to the fast pace and variety of operational policing and instilled in me a strong commitment to public service. Following promotion to Sergeant, I continued in response before moving into the role of a Custody Sergeant, where I gained valuable insight into detainee management and the criminal justice process.

Driven by a passion for problem-solving and working closely with communities, I transitioned into neighbourhood policing in Cambridge city. There, I led a proactive team tackling local crime, antisocial behaviour, and community tensions. This experience paved the way for my appointment as lead of the burglary team, where I spent three years developing intelligence-led approaches to tackling serious acquisitive crime. I was then promoted to Inspector, taking command of one of the force’s 24/7 response teams.

Despite the range of roles I’ve held, my heart has always been in neighbourhood policing. I was therefore proud to be appointed as the Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Huntingdonshire – a role I’ve held longer than any other neighbourhood Inspector in the force. It’s a position I care deeply about, and I remain committed to building strong partnerships, preventing crime, and ensuring our communities feel safe and supported.

In addition to my core role, I am a trained Public Order Commander, over the past 16 years, I’ve been deployed to many of the UK’s most significant public events, including the London riots, major political summits, high-profile protests, and large-scale disorder. These deployments demand calm leadership, quick decision-making, and a clear focus on maintaining public safety – skills I’ve honed over many years in high-pressure environments.

I also serve as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Commander, a specialist role in which I’ve been deployed to incidents involving national security and have resulted in terrorism charges at times. This area of policing is both complex and fascinating, requiring a high level of preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and operational discipline.

Throughout my career, I’ve been motivated by a strong sense of duty, a desire to protect others, and a belief in visible, community-focused policing. I remain committed to the people of Huntingdonshire and proud to serve them.

My policing career started when I joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 2007 as a Police Community Support Officer. During this time I developed a deep rooted understanding and belief in the benefits of community policing.

I transitioned to a police officer beginning my career in response policing in Cambridge at Parkside Police Station. These early years in a busy city exposed me to the fast pace multi challenging environment of operational policing.
Whilst carrying out this role I obtained extra skill sets in public order policing, further developing my knowledge in conflict management and conflict resolution. Whilst a police constable I moved between a number of departments including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and a proactive team put together to disrupt criminal behaviour in the South Cambridgeshire area.

Following promotion to Sergeant, I continued in response policing before moving into my current role as the neighbourhood sergeant for St Neots and surrounding areas. Whilst in this role I have continued my public order work as well as being trained in the role of a Custody Sergeant, where I gained valuable insight into detainee management and the criminal justice process.
With my main enjoyment coming from a passion for problem-solving and working closely with communities and professional partners, I have now held this role for the past five and a half years.

There have been numerous changes within the team of the years I have been here but through my time in neighbourhood policing I have been involved in leading a proactive team tackling local crime, antisocial behaviour, and community tensions.

Community policing is something I’m deeply passionate about. My team and I are focused on delivering proactive, intelligence-led policing that is rooted in engagement, prevention, and problem-solving.

I joined Cambridgeshire Police in 2006 as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO). For the first part of my career, I was based in Peterborough as part of the Eastern sector neighbourhood teams.

During this time my responsibilities included being the contact for the homeless community in Peterborough City Centre working alongside Peterborough City Council and homeless charities to help direct people towards appropriate help and support.

I was also proud to be part of setting up a football project on Central Ward. This initiative allowed us to engage with youth who were part of local street gangs and direct them away from crime.

For the last 12 years I have been part of the St Neots Neighbourhood Policing Team, and I am the PCSO for Loves Farm, Wintringham and Eynesbury areas of the town. I am also the youth contact for the team which involves working in partnership with local schools and youth services to help and support young people who are on the fringe of crime or at risk of exploitation.

I pride myself in being seen by the local community patrolling often by pedal cycle and foot, so I am approachable by all members of the community. I have earned the nickname “PC Dan”. I truly believe in community policing and the “bobby on the beat” style. It is my honour and privilege to serve the community of St Neots

I am the neighbourhood officer for Buckden, Covington, Diddington, Eynesbury, Great Paxton, Hail Weston, Hardwick, Kimbolton, Little Staughton, Midloe, Offord Cluny, Offord D’Arcy, Southoe, Staughton Moor, Stirloe, Stonely, Tilbrook, Toseland and Yelling

I joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in May 2020, where I initially operated on response policing for around three and half years. Dealing with 999 calls around the clock gave me a real buzz for the job, having dealt with a wide variety of incidents ranging from simple thefts, serious assaults, fraud, all the way to aircraft offences! Whilst on response policing I was able to delve into criminal investigations for six months which gave me the insight and experience into complex investigations.

My passion for policing has always been there from a young age and I feel genuinely lucky to be part of a role I care deeply about, including serving the public and their communities within it.

I have always considered myself to be a proactive officer – I simply hate sitting at a desk! I enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and other departments and once the opportunity arose to join Huntingdonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team, I jumped at the opportunity and come January 2024, I was part of that team.

I consider us to be a respected proactive team tackling local crime, antisocial behaviour, and safeguarding those who are under localised exploitation. We are dynamic in our approach with the sole aim to achieve public safety and ultimately trust. We are a highly trained team, and one which relish the opportunity to get dangerous individuals behind bars.

With this, I understand the need for public engagement and believe the public hold the key for any case to be successful. I always seek to build strong and lasting relationships within the community and believe that being visible, approachable, and trustworthy will always aid the policing to public cooperation.

I am the neighbourhood officer for Abbotsley, Eaton Ford, Eaton Socon, Great Gransden, Great Staughton, Little Paxton, St Neots town, Tetworth and Waresley.

I joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 2011 in the Cambridge city neighbourhood team as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO). I began my career working in a proactive team where I learnt the fundamentals of being a neighbourhood police officer, being visible and approachable to the local community, knowing your area and key individuals and being proactive to address issues promptly.

In 2017 I joined as a Police Officer where I began my career in response policing covering the Huntingdonshire area. This exposed me to the fast pace and variety of response policing and gave me opportunities to train and specialise as well as have experience on attachments in other specialist departments. Over the years, I’ve been involved in countless investigations and have helped bring offenders to justice, but I am equally proud of the preventative work- educating young people, supporting vulnerable individuals and working with partner agencies to address the root causes.

In addition to my core role, I have also been trained in Public Order policing. This is something I am particularly proud of and have been fortunate enough to be part of policing all over the UK at some of the most significant and high-profile events including major political events, protests as well as Royal visits. These deployments have taught me the importance of remaining calm and focused in some of the most high-pressured environments.

In addition, I am trained in the use of Taser, initial phase pursuit and am a drugs EDIT tester.

Despite the range of roles and experiences I have had, neighbourhood policing has always been at the heart of why I joined policing and in 2022 I returned to it. From tackling anti-social behaviour to catching criminals and responding to emergencies, my focus has always been on making a genuine difference and I remain committed to the people of Huntingdonshire that I proudly serve.
