Vehicle related ASB in St Neots
Work to tackle vehicle-related anti-social behaviour continues, with two Surron bikes seized and enquiries ongoing to identify the owner of a further bike before enforcement action can be taken. Neighbourhood officers are working closely with businesses including Tesco and Colmworth Business Park to identify riders, although poor-quality CCTV has presented challenges. A number of vehicles have been linked to the issue and added to a Problem Management Plan (PMP), with investigations and enforcement opportunities being explored. Longer-term preventative measures, including improved site security and the installation of barriers, are also being considered.
ASB in the Town Centre and at the Marina
The town centre injunction remains in place and reports of people accessing rooftops have remained very low. Officers have increased patrols in the town centre to provide reassurance and deter anti-social behaviour. Shoplifting remains a concern, but the introduction of the AUROR retail crime system is helping identify prolific offenders, with one individual currently being progressed for a significant number of offences following a positive identification.
Local officers also carried out an operation targeting the sale of illegal vapes and tobacco, resulting in the discovery of a substantial quantity of illegal tobacco. Further enforcement activity is planned over the coming months.
At the marina, officers have engaged with members of the fishing community following concerns raised by residents. Those spoken to were polite and cooperative, and no criminal offences were identified. The local authority is continuing to review the matter from a civil enforcement perspective. -
