Our officers work closely with community leaders and residents, listening to you to act on information and help rectify the issues that matter to you most. Your local team are there to protect, gather information and reduce crime in your community and the wider area.
Consisting of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) under the command of an Inspector, the Neighbourhood teams are supported by additional officers from across the wider area, including Neighbourhood Support Teams.
Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below as the things your local neighbourhood policing teams across St Ives will prioritise over the next three months:

Vehicle related ASB in Ramsey and visibility
•Ramsey Town Centre was routinely included in the patrol plan specifically for vehicle ASB, alongside PSPO enforcement.
•A third-strike Community Speedwatch intervention was progressed in July for a vehicle repeatedly detected speeding at Oilmills Road, Ramsey Mereside.
•In July, the team also supported a high-visibility joint operation with Ministry of Defence Police around Ramsey, Warboys and RAF Wyton. The deployment included vehicle checkpoints, roving patrols and engagement with local businesses and communities to disrupt criminality, increase visibility and reassurance, encourage reporting and gather intelligence.
•A July RCAT deployment covering Ramsey, Warboys and surrounding villages produced 15 vehicle stops, two Traffic Offence Reports, one VDRS, three vehicle identifications and one vehicle seizure for no tax/no MOT.
ASB in Houghton
From late May onwards the team treated Houghton Mill/Lock as a recurring summer hotspot, particularly for dangerous swimming, drug/alcohol-related ASB, parking/access problems and later vehicle ASB. The response included:
•Increased high-visibility patrols on warm days and evenings, with officers tasked specifically to check both the Mill and lock side, obtain details and address obstruction/ASB.
•Raising awareness with the control room so reports of dangerous swimming resulted in checks of the lock itself rather than just the Mill side.
•Adding Houghton Mill to the Youth Peer Groups and Places problem-solving process
•Working jointly with HDC Community Safety, National Trust, Environment Agency, Fire & Rescue, parish representatives and waterways volunteers to improve reporting and coordinate prevention.
•Water-safety education, including three joint presentations with Fire at St Ivo and wider social-media messaging.
•Seeking more proactive civil parking enforcement on Mill Street at peak periods to protect residents and preserve emergency access.
