    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Using a combination of your feedback and our own data, we have set the below as the things your local neighbourhood policing teams in Wisbech will prioritise for July - September 2026:

    1) Drug supply, possession and associated anti-social behaviour in the Wisbech town area.

    2) Homelessness and associated anti-social behaviour, including street drinking, in the Wisbech town area.

    3) Anti-social behaviour surrounding car meets – targeted activity directed towards dangerous and antisocial driving in and around Wisbech.

    Issued 30 June 2026

    Action taken:

    1) Drug supply, possession and associated anti-social behaviour in the Wisbech town area.

We have had ongoing success utilising plain clothes and high visibility policing tactics which has resulted in a number of arrests for both “possession of” and “with intent to supply” drugs. Quantities of both class A and B drugs have been seized along with a number of weapons that were found as a result of drug-related searches. Our tactics are being reviewed, tested and constantly modified to prevent offenders from becoming accustomed to them, ensuring that targeted areas become inhospitable to offenders.

We have already received comment from partner agencies noting a visible reduction in open drug dealing and use within Wisbech town. Our efforts and continuing tactic rotation/adaption will drive this further out of the public view. On my last review, stop and search was up, with a success rate of 54.5% - far above the national average of 14.9%. The team will be conducting numerous days of action through August where we will be targeting offending hotspots and identifying new locations as drug dealing migrates out of the town centre.

    2) Homelessness and associated anti-social behaviour (ASB), including street drinking, in the Wisbech town area.

The priority continues to be worked on. Officers are targeting ASB, street drinking and homelessness. Again, partner agencies have commented in a notable reduction in the issues. This and the previous priority often have a crossover in terms of offenders, intelligence, locations and public perspective. This is an ongoing partnership matter that will see incremental change as the operation progresses.

    3) Anti-social behaviour surrounding car meets – targeted activity directed towards dangerous and antisocial driving in and around Wisbech.

Neighbourhood officers have conducted numerous engagements with enthusiasts from the car meet community.

Now that s59 of the Police Reform Act has changed, officers will be conducting robust enforcement on selected days within the Wisbech area. People driving in a manner that could cause alarm, distress or annoyance can expect for their vehicles to be seized without warning for acts such as backfiring exhausts, heavy revving, wheel spinning, burnouts, wheelies and such anti-social behaviour. Where evidence exists, offenders will also be prosecuted for offences.

    Actioned 11 August 2026
