Road Safety

The roads policing unit is committed to reducing casualties and denying criminals the use of the roads. A team of more than 60 officers patrol the county’s roads 24/7 to ensure motorists adhere to the law and provide a response following collisions.

The aims of the unit are:

  • To deny criminals the use of the roads.
  • Reduce casualties.
  • Tackle the threat of terrorism.
  • Reduce anti-social use of the roads.
  • Enhance public confidence and reassurance by patrolling the roads.
