Two St Neots homes closed for three months

Two St Neots homes have been closed for three months following concerns about anti-social behaviour.

Peterborough Magistrate’s Court issued the full closure order to 87 Samuel Jones Crescent, Little Paxton, following an application from Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s St Neots Neighbourhood Team.

The action came as a result of frequent reports of anti-social behaviour coming from the property.

On the same day, the court issued a full closure order to 90 Duck Lane, Eynesbury, after another application from the team following reports of anti-social behaviour and drug misuse.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Rob Streater said: “These closure orders send a clear message that persistent anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities. The level of disruption and distress caused to neighbouring residents in these cases has been significant and ongoing.

“This action has been taken to protect those living nearby and to restore some peace and stability to the area. We will continue to work with partner agencies to address issues like this and take robust action where necessary.

“Anyone who continues to breach these orders risks arrest and further enforcement action.”

The closure order states both premises be closed in accordance with the Anti-social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014. No one is permitted to enter until 5 August except property management employees, their approved contractors and members of the emergency services.

If anyone is found on either premises unlawfully, they render themselves liable for arrest.
