A drug dealer from Peterborough who ran a county lines operation has been jailed for four years.
Junaid Ali, 25, of Gladstone Street, was arrested at the Channel Tunnel in Kent on 6 February 2024 after officers identified him as being involved in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs throughout Cambridgeshire.
Following his arrest, officers seized two mobile phones. Analysis of one of the numbers identified it as a drugs line which had operated between June 2023 and January 2024.
Examination of Ali’s phone uncovered a number of messages which evidenced his involvement in the supply of crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin and cannabis from Peterborough.
At Huntingdon Law Courts on Thursday (21 May), Ali was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, and a Class B drug - cannabis.
Sentencing, Judge Jonathan Seely said Ali had chosen to be involved in supplying Class A drugs for his “own profit”.
He said: “You weren’t an addict and certainly weren’t a user of Class A. You were prepared to inflict misery on others - you didn’t care. You would have known perfectly well about Class A drug use.
“I don’t accept that you’ve suddenly realised. You prioritised yourself.”
