A man who was spotted by police breaking speed limits in a stolen car has been jailed.
Logan Cook, 24, was spotted by officers in a marked patrol car in Dogsthorpe Road, Peterborough, on 18 January.
The officers followed the Toyota Yaris Cook was driving along Exeter Road, where he drove at an estimated 45mph in a 30mph limit.
He turned onto the driveway of his home in Vere Road, where officers spoke to him.
They told Cook the car had been stolen two days earlier in Taverners Road, Peterborough, but he denied being responsible, saying he had purchased it the previous day.
However, he admitted driving without due care and attention, driving whilst disqualified, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and handling stolen goods.
On Monday (19 January) at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court he was jailed for 28 weeks.
DC George Corney said: “Cook knew he didn’t have a valid licence or insurance, but he simply chose to risk it and get behind the wheel.
“His driving was unacceptable, putting other road users in danger and it’s lucky he didn’t cause a collision.”
