A woman who assaulted her partner and then falsely claimed to be the victim has been jailed.
Claire Hancock, 38, made a silent call to 999 from a property in Fen Ditton on the evening of 2 February.
Hancock was intoxicated when officers arrived and claimed her partner had assaulted her by pulling her hair.
However, officers viewed video doorbell footage which showed Hancock threatening to get the victim arrested by falsely accusing him of assault.
She was also seen grabbing the victim’s face with both hands and forcibly shaking his head.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday (6 November), Hancock, of Tenison Road, Cambridge, was jailed for ten months after admitting to committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice and assault by beating.
PC Warmuz, who investigated, said: “Hancock was willing to let the victim be arrested for an assault that she knew was fabricated.
“This was a serious allegation which could have had real consequences for the victim, so I am pleased Hancock has been brought to justice.”
