A prolific shoplifter who was banned from dozens of shops across Cambridge has been jailed.
Jack Mann, 22, of no fixed address, was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by entering multiple stores between February and May.
He also stole alcohol, clothing and tins of tuna worth more than £1,000.
At Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (15 July), Mann was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to 12 counts of breaching a CBO, 13 counts of theft and assaulting an emergency worker.
Mann’s CBO, preventing him from entering any Co-op store in Cambridgeshire, Mill Road and Eddington Sainsburys, East Road, Hills Road and Petty Curry Tesco, John Lewis in Cambridge, Grand Arcade and Lions Yard, Savers in St Andrews Street, Superdry Petty Curry and Hugo Boss in Market Hill, remains in place until October.
Sergeant Dan Scott, from the Spree Offender Team, said: “Criminal behaviour orders are another tool we can use to help better protect the community from repeat offenders.
“I hope this order provides reassurance to Cambridgeshire’s retailers and employees that breaches will be taken seriously by police and the courts.”
