A drug dealer has been jailed after being found in an uninsured car.
Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in Cambridge when they spotted a grey Volkswagen Passat without insurance parked in Lisa Court.
They searched the driver, Mirush Sallaj, and the vehicle and found 20 bags of crack cocaine as well as a mobile phone and cash.
At Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (15 July), Sallaj, 41, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, driving without a licence and insurance. He has also been banned from driving for 16 months.
Neighbourhood officer, PC Jodie Skells, who investigated, said: “We were responding to concerns of drug dealing in the area when we found Sallaj parked up in Lisa Court and knew something wasn’t right. There is no place for drug dealing in Cambridge and we will continue to put people like Sallaj before the courts.”
