Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Cambridge.
Police were called to Mill Park at 11.27pm on Friday (1 August) with reports of violence.
Despite best efforts of paramedics, Mohammed Algasim, 20, from Saudi Arabia, who was on a 10 week placement studying in Cambridge, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.01am (2 August).
A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday however it is believed he was stabbed in an unprovoked attack.
A 21-year-old man, from Cambridge, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in a public place. He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (4 August).
A 50-year-old man, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in custody.
