Our Ref: FOI2025/00283
Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Ref No: FOI2025/00283
I write in connection with your request for information received on 9th January. I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Please could you provide me with data on the number of individuals arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in the full calendar years 2023 and 2024, broken down by the following:
(i) Nationality
(ii) Ethnicity (both ethnic description and ethnicity appearance)
(iii) For each arrest, specify in which neighbourhood the alleged offence took place and the date when it took place
As well as this breakdown, I would be grateful if you could provide an overall arrest figure for each year broken down by (i) nationality and (ii) ethnicity.
If the provision of this data looks likely to exceed the cost limit, then please prioritise the ethnicity and nationality data over the neighbourhood area in which the offence allegedly occured.
I am required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published and therefore, in the public domain without caveat.
Response: Following searches conducted on the Constabulary’s crime recording systems, please find the information you have requested in the attached PDF document.

The numerical data presented in this response is an un-audited snapshot of un-published data sourced from "live" systems and is subject to the interpretation of the original request by the individual extracting the data.
