I write in connection with your request for information received on 6th March. I note you seek access to the following information:
I want to know how many people have received fines for not restraining children properly whilst driving.
1. How many motorists were caught for travelling with children illegally without a child car seat
• CCCJ Offence code RT88515 Drive motor vehicle seat belt fitted, with child over 3 but under 14, not wearing seat belt.
2. How many motorists were caught driving without the correct child car seat
• CCCJ Offence code RT88514 Drive motor vehicle with child under 3 not wearing rear seatbelt / using correct child seat.
I would like figures for 2022, 2023, 2024 and the start of 2025, broken down by month.
