At Cambridgeshire Constabulary, we believe in providing genuine, human-centered support to everyone who contacts us.
That's why our web chat is staffed by highly trained operators who sit within our Demand Hub, not bots or AI.
When you contact us using live chat, rest assured you'll be speaking directly with a member of our call handling team who are here to help, listen and provide you with the assistance you need.
As part of our #NotABot campaign, we want to tell you a bit more about the process of how our live web chat works.
In an increasingly automated world, we understand how important it is to connect with someone who truly understands your concerns.
Automated systems can be frustrating to deal with and cannot handle the complexities of personal / sensitive situations which is why we prioritise real, human interaction for our web chat service.
Human support: Every message you send is reviewed and responded to by a member of our team.
Empathy and understanding: Our team is equipped to handle sensitive situations with care, professionalism and compassion.
Efficient assistance: We aim to respond quickly and ensure your concerns are addressed effectively.
Reporting non-urgent crime can be done via 101, web chat or via the report section of our website. The outcome is exactly the same; the only difference is the technology used.
On web chat, our operators are able to assist multiple people at one time, whereas on 101, they can assist only one person at a time.
Web chat is more efficient and reduces 101 wait times for those who do not have online access.
It is available whenever the green chat icon appears in the bottom right of our website. Simply click the button, fill in the details and start chatting.
