This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
If you would like to get involved, here's how we deliver our sessions to schools.
Delivery for schools:
We offer schools the opportunity to have an officer come into school and provide a presentation to students on the issue of Violence Against Women and girls (V.A.W.G) – an issue that is regularly making the headlines across the country.
The issue is not just a priority for the UK Government and the Constabulary, but also the communities across Cambridgeshire.
We are doing a lot of work with a wide range of people who support our desire to make our community a safer place, including training to staff who work in the night-time economy, such as door and bar staff and taxi drivers, as well as partner agencies such as council CCTV operators and NHS.
As part of this work, we speak to students on what forms violence against women and girls can take. This covers subjects such as what predatory behaviour looks like, how offenders can behave and the things they may look for when identifying possible victims, and how we can all work together to call it out and address the issue of violence against women and girls.
The presentation has been viewed by the education and safeguarding department at Cambridgeshire County Council and deemed appropriate for the age group 16 and over.
The presentation will last for approx. 60 minutes and we will answer any questions the students may have.
As I’m sure you appreciate, street harassment can happen to anyone, therefore it’s important that we provide our young adults with information on the issue of V.A.W.G.
The training can be fitted into your schedule.
An online meeting can be arranged with your safeguarding officer to go through the presentation before it is delivered.
