Summary
Of the 854 UoF entries there were 53 (6.2%) on Asian people which is the 2nd highest number in the rolling 12 months, 63 (7.4%) on Black people which is the 2nd highest number in the rolling 12 months and 658 (77%) on White people.
Of the 854 UoF in September, 94 were to facilitate Stop and Search which is 44.1% of all stop searches (213 person & person with vehicle stop searches occurred in September). These 94 uses of force were comprised of: 70x Compliant Handcuffing, 15x Uncompliant Handcuffing, 2x Firearm, 3x Ground Restraint, 6x Improvised Tactic, 1x Pava Used, 1x Taser Drawn,1x Taser Used, and 3x Unarmed tactics
With 70 compliant handcuffing this means this tactic was the most commonly used use of force at 32.8% of the time, this is a decrease in the number of people handcuffed whilst being stop searched compared with previous months.

Summary – Both Asian and Black people are slightly more likely to be compliant handcuffed during a stop search than the force average of 32.7%; they are equally more likely to be complaint handcuffed than White people.
In comparison when including all other use of force, Asian people are less likely than Black or White people to have use of force used on them during a stop and search. Whereas Black people are significantly more likely to have use of force used on them during a stop search compared to the force average of 44.2% and both Asian and White people.
