AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2022

The accounts of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and the Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary are subject to external audit by Rachel Brittain, Partner, BDO LLP, 16 The Havens, Ransomes Europark, Ipswich IP3 9SJ. Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process.
From Monday 1 August 2022 to Friday 9 September 2022 inclusive (except Saturdays and Sundays) between 9.30am and 4.30pm, any person may inspect the accounts of both the Commissioner and the Chief Constable for the year ended 31 March 2022. This includes related documents such as books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents.
Please note that the accounts and records are held in various locations and to facilitate the process applicants are initially asked to contact Nancy Leversha, Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner on 0300 333 3456 or Elaine Fox, Principal Financial Accountant, Cambridgeshire Constabulary on 07736 084115, or email [email protected]
From 1 August 2021 to 9 September 2022, a local government elector for the area of the Commissioner and the Chief Constable (Cambridgeshire), or his/her representative, may ask the Auditor (see above) questions about the accounts and may also object to accounts of either the Commissioner or the Chief Constable asking that the Auditor issue a report in the public interest (under section 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014) and/or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law (section 28 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014). Written notice of a proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor at the address given above and copied to James Haylett, Chief Executive, Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner, PO Box 688, Huntingdon, PE29 9LA and/or to Mr Jon Lee at the Constabulary address below.
