Police pension board

The BCH Police Pension Board was set up in 2015.

The Board is established by Chief Constables of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire (the “Scheme Managers”) under the powers of Section 5 of the PSPA and Regulation 10 of the Regulations. It is chaired by Bedfordshire Police Head of Finance Stuart Goodwin with senior managers and Federation representatives from the three forces.

The role of the Pension Board is defined by Regulation 10(1) of the Regulations as to assist the BCH Pension Scheme Pension Managers to secure compliance with:

  • pension regulations;
  • any other legislation relating to the governance and administration of the Pension Scheme (and any statutory pension scheme that is connected with it);
  • any requirements imposed by the Pensions Regulator in relation to the Scheme (and any statutory pension scheme that is connected with it)
