A driver seen by police swerving on to the opposite side of the road was found to be more than three times the legal drink drive limit.
Remigijus Gadliauskas, 43, was seen driving slowly along the 60mph Chain Causeway towards Earith on the 21 April.
The officers also saw him swerve into the opposite lane, with full beam headlights on.
Gadliauskas was stopped and blew 123 at the roadside, more than three times the limit of 35.
Gadliauskas, of Victoria Place, Sutton, Ely, pleaded guilty to driving whilst drunk at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (22 May). He was disqualified from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay a fine of £1000.
The force operates a dedicated, confidential hotline – 0800 032 0845 – which is available 24/7 and allows the reporting of those believed to be driving under the influence.
Information about drink driving, the law and the penalties, can be found on the force’s dedicated road safety information webpages.
