Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
A man who was seen drunkenly walking towards a car and driving away has been banned from the roads.
Dominic Karbowski, 43, was reported by a member of the public at about 7am on 9 May, in Mayfield Road in Huntingdon.
The caller was also concerned by the erratic manner of his driving.
Karbowski was arrested at his home in Ruston Close, Huntingdon, and taken into custody where he tested almost three times the legal limit.
Karbowski pleaded guilty to drink driving, having no insurance and driving whilst disqualified at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (10 May). He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, disqualified from driving for 45 months, ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and fined £85.
PC Liam Wells, who investigated said: “Karbowski knowingly got into his car while drunk, putting other road users at risk.
“Thank you to the member of the public who called us with their concerns.”
