A prolific Cambridge shop thief is back behind bars after stealing goods worth more than £2,400.
Blake Healy, of no fixed address, targeted the BP garage in Newmarket Road, Cotswold in Bridge Street, Co-Op on Hills Road and Sainsbury’s on Mill Road between 27 December and 19 January.
The 28-year-old stole clothing, chocolates, wine and Red Bull worth more than £2,400. He also breached his two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), issued in January 2024 not to enter any Co-Op, Superdry, Savers or JD Sports store in Cambridge.
Healy also assaulted a member of the public when leaving Cotswold with the stolen goods on 9 January.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday (21 January), Healy was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of shop theft, two breaches of a CBO and assault by beating and activating a suspended sentence.
Healy must also pay £2,462.74 in compensation to the stores he stole from.
PC Kyle Marsden, from the Spree Offender Team, said: “Healy is a prolific criminal with a number of thefts against his name. Despite ongoing support from police and partner agencies, Healy has continued to offend and now finds himself with a year-long sentence.
“We encourage those businesses affected by shop lifting to report it to us.”
