A man who breached a restraining order by turning up at a relative’s house and leaving abusive voicemails has been sentenced.
James Eastwood, 36, was subject to an order forbidding him from contacting the woman or going to her home.
However, in October last year, Eastwood called and left abusive voicemails before turning up at her home and demanding money.
Eastwood, of Melbourn, near Royston, pleaded guilty to harassment and sending threatening communication. He was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (8 January).
PC Cynthia Da Costa, who investigated, said: “Eastwood showed a complete disregard for his restraining order, breaching it on many occasions with his threatening and abusive messages and turning up at an address he was forbidden to go to.
“I am glad justice has been done today and hope Eastwood spending time behind bars will reassure the victim and show how seriously we take such breaches.”
