A thief who has targeted shops in Littleport stealing laundry products, meat and alcohol worth more than £2,100 has been jailed.
Joshua Green, 33, of Cottier Drive, Littleport, was captured on CCTV stealing the goods from Co-Ops in Wisbech Road and Main Street on 19 occasions between 20 July 2024 and 21 January 2025.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday (4 February), Green pleaded guilty to 19 counts of shop lifting, three breaches of a criminal behaviour order, possession of a class A drug and racially aggravated public order. He was sentenced to 48 weeks in prison.
He was also given a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order not to enter any Co-Op Store in Cambridgeshire.
Sergeant Dan Scott, from the Spree Offending Team, said: “Green has caused no end of misery to the Co-Ops in Littleport with his offending which has been prolific and often saw him targeting the stores more than once a day.
“We hope the spell in prison will give him time to consider his actions while also providing some much-needed respite to the shops affected by his offending.”
