Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
A drug dealer who hid class A drugs under his hostel bed has been jailed.
Staff from the hostel in Tenison Road, Cambridge, contacted police in December 2023 after they came across the large stash of crack cocaine, heroin and cash under the duvet of Kieron Collins-Fogarty.
The 22-year-old had been evicted from the property and the items were found while clearing out his room.
When police arrived they found Collins-Fogarty had returned to the room and was also in possession of six wraps of class A drugs and a mobile phone linked to drug dealing.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday (22 April), Collins-Fogarty, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years and two months in prison after being found guilty at an earlier trial in January of possession with intent to supply heroin, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of criminal property.
Detective Sergeant Kenny Reeves said: “We believe he was coming back that day to collect the drugs and cash but thanks to the staff at the hostel, these illegal drugs will never reach the streets and another drug dealer, bringing misery to our communities, is behind bars.”
