A Cambridge shop thief who stole meats, cheeses and alcohol has been sentenced.
Jordan Cole was captured on CCTV stealing washing liquid and tablets, alcohol, meats, cheeses and toiletries from Co-Ops in Milton Road, Station Road and Marleigh Avenue as well as Sainsbury’s in Eddington and Clifton Way.
Between 14 August and 3 September he targeted the stores on five occasions stealing goods worth hundreds of pounds.
At Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (12 September), Cole, 35, of Dundee Close, Cambridge, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for six months after pleading guilty to five counts of shoplifting.
PC Alex Thake, who investigated, said: “Shoplifting causes misery for businesses and employees across the county. We’re committed to working with shops to encourage staff to report thefts so we can arrest those responsible and put them before the courts.”
