A man from Portsmouth caught with drugs in Cambridge has been jailed.
Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in the city on the morning of 18 July when they spotted a black Kia Ceed in Fen Road they knew to be linked to drug dealing.
A search of the driver, Filat Visha, 19, of Jersey Road, Portsmouth, and the vehicle revealed two mobile phones, more than £80 in cash, 64 packages of cannabis worth £2,240 and seven bags of cocaine worth £420.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday (15 October), Vish was sentenced to a year in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Detective Constable Fraser Wilson-Dykes, who investigated, said: “We’re working daily to target those who come to Cambridgeshire to deal drugs.
“Members of the public can help us by reporting suspicious activity. This could include vehicles coming and going, especially at night, and different people arriving at a property near you. No matter how insignificant it may seem, we want to know so we can build up a picture of what is happening where you live.”
Video footage of his arrest can be viewed here.
