A thief who stole items including cheese, chocolate, butter and meat has been jailed and banned from stores in Cambridgeshire.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday (15 October), Joshua Collinson-Prime was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to 10 counts of theft.
The thefts took place between 27 July and 6 October at Co-Op’s in Chesterton Road, Milton Road and Hills Road and Sainsbury’s.
The 29-year-old, of East Road, Cambridge, stole large quantities of butter, cheese, chocolate, meat and laundry products.
At court he was also handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order which states he must not enter any Co-Op, Sainsbury’s or BP store within Cambridgeshire and not to conceal any item in any shop.
Sergeant Dan Scott, from the Spree Offending Team, said: “Prime is the latest shop thief to be given a Criminal Behaviour Order in the city. The orders are designed to prevent people like Prime, who have a flagrant disregard for people and their property, from entering areas where they have previously committed crime.”
