Drug dealer ran from police

A drug dealer who ran from police in Cambridge has been jailed for three years.

Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in Whitehill Road on the evening of 12 September when they spotted a Vauxhall Corsa they believed to linked to drug dealing.

After pulling over the vehicle, the driver, Florian Bushushta, began acting suspiciously and was uncooperative with officers before he made off on foot.

The 26-year-old, of Acorn Avenue, Bar Hill, was followed and following a short footchase was found hiding in the bushes of a nearby garden.

Officers searched Bushushta and his vehicle and found nine bags of cocaine with a street value of £540, 11 bags of cannabis worth £385, £1160 in cash and a mobile phone with messages linking him to drug dealing.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (15 November), Bushushta was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis and possession of criminal property.

PC James Good, from the Neighbourhood Support Team, who investigated, said: “Thanks to the suspicions and quick thinking reactions of neighbourhood officers, another drug dealer is off the streets of Cambridge.

“We will continue to target people like Bushushta. Drugs bring misery and violence to our communities and their actions won’t be tolerated.”
