A man has been disqualified from driving following a police pursuit with speeds of up to 90mph.
Police were on patrol in St Ives in the early hours of 5 October when they spotted a silver Peugeot with no MOT.
Officers indicated for the vehicle to pull over but instead it drove off.
The vehicle was later spotted by other officers travelling towards Hilton where it was followed at speeds of up to 90mph.
Eventually the vehicle pulled over in Potton Road, Hilton and the driver, Kacper Kucharski, 22, of Coronation Avenue, Somersham, was arrested.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (24 October), Kucharski was given a six week sentence, suspended for a year after pleading guilty to failing to stop, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was also disqualified from driving for 22 months.
Sergeant Chris Daniel, who investigated, said: “Kucharski had taken the vehicle without consent, knowing he was not insured and without a licence. He put other road users, his passenger and himself at risk of serious injury with his manner of driving. I’m pleased he will be off of our roads for some time.”
