Drink driver loses licence for second time

A Cambridge drink driver has lost his licence for a second time.
Police were on patrol in the city just after midnight on 22 April when they spotted Luis Massot driving at speed along Queen’s Road.
The 25-year-old, of Homerton Street, was signalled to pull over and blew 80 at the roadside, more than twice the legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
He went on to give an evidential reading of 63 in custody.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (23 May), Massot was disqualified from driving for three years and four months after pleading guilty to drink driving.
PC Matthew Bilham, who investigated, said: “Driving under the influence of drink or drugs is extremely dangerous and can affect your driving ability to judge speed and distance and reaction and coordination skills.
“The driving ban given to Massot reflects the seriousness of his actions and the repeat offending after previously being disqualified in August 2018 for 18 months for the same offence.”
