A drug dealer who attempted to run from police and hide his evidence has been jailed.
Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in Cambridge on 23 October (2023) when they spotted Enea Zuna parked up in a grey Kia on Barnwell Road.
The 23-year-old, of no fixed address, couldn’t provide officers with the address his vehicle was registered to, or say what he was doing in the area.
While checks were being carried out, Zuna ran off discarding two mobile phones and his car key, but was stopped by officers in nearby Peverel Road and all items were recovered.
Inside the car police found 30 bags of cannabis with a street value of around £1,000 inside coffee jars.
At Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (28 February), Zuna was sentenced to seven months in prison having pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis, driving without insurance and otherwise in accordance with a licence.
Detective Constable Alex Galan-Tarachiu, who investigated, said: “We will continue to target those who come into our county to deal drugs because of the associated violence, theft and misery it brings to our communities.”
