A drug dealer has been jailed following a collision in Cambridge.
Klevis Gjonaj was driving along Devonshire Road on 1 November (2023) in his black BMW 1 Series when he collided with a Ford Focus.
Police were called after Gjonaj failed to share his details and further checks revealed his BMW was linked to drug dealing in the city.
The 21-year-old had £470 in cash in his hoodie and was carrying two mobile phones he claimed belong to a friend. Officers also found seven deal bags of cocaine in the car.
At Huntingdon Law Courts on Friday (15 March), Gjonaj, of Honiton Road, Southend-on-Sea, was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of cannabis.”
Detective Constable Ben Smith, who investigated, said: “Gjonaj’s reluctance to hand over his details combined with the intelligence held on our systems led to him being searched and arrested. We’re committed to putting those who deal drugs in our county before the courts.”
