A serial Cambridge shoplifter has been given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order.
Jamie Williams, 28, of no fixed address, was handed the order at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on 17 July banning him from any Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx or Co-Op in Cambridgeshire.
He was also handed a nine-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to 15 counts of shoplifting between 19 April and 5 June, possession of cannabis and two counts of assault by beating.
Sergeant Dan Scott, from the Spree Offending Team, said: “Williams is a notorious shoplifter who has caused misery to businesses in Cambridge.
“We will continue to work closely with businesses across the city to tackle shop theft and encourage businesses affected to report any breaches, which will be taken robustly by the courts.”
