A man has been jailed after he was captured on CCTV dealing drugs from his underpants in Cambridge city centre.
CCTV operators alerted police after spotting Kashton Henry handing items from his underwear to members of the public in exchange for money in Market Street on 18 December.
Police located the 19-year-old and retrieved a rucksack that he had hidden in a nearby shop and seized 36 wraps of cannabis, six wraps of crystal MDMA and a knife.
At Huntingdon Law Courts on Friday (23 February), Henry, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and three months in prison after previously pleading guilty to concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, possession of class A drugs and possession of a knife in a public place.
Detective Constable Antonio Fernandez, who investigated, said: “Thanks to the suspicions raised by CCTV operators, Henry, has been taken off the streets.
“We’ll continue to disrupt and dismantle the activities of drug dealers who bring associated crime including violence, theft and burglary to Cambridge.”
