A drug dealer who admitted having drugs when he was stopped in Cambridge has been jailed.
Neighbourhood officers were on patrol in Cambridge when they spotted Rolan Beqa park up and enter a park on Hobart Road just after 8pm on 22 May.
The officers then watched him return to his black Nissan Qashqai a few moments later.
When spoken to, 31-year-old Beqa couldn’t account for why he went into the park and then gave the officers a false name and address.
He later admitted he had drugs in the car and officers found cocaine, cannabis, mobile phone and £200 in cash.
At Huntingdon Law Courts yesterday (8 August), Beqa, of Duke Street, Northampton, was sentenced to 20 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis, possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
PC James Good, from the Neighbourhood Support Team, said: “Drug dealers like Beqa are not welcome in Cambridgeshire and we will continue to seek them out and put them before the courts.
“We urge members of the public to report their drug dealing concerns to us.”
