A woman has been left with serious injuries after a crash in St Neots which saw her car overturn on the carriageway.
The woman was driving a black Mini One on the A1 southbound, at Eaton Socon, at 5pm yesterday (22 August) when she was involved in a collision with the driver of a black Toyota Auris travelling in the same direction.
Officers and paramedics attended and the 23-year-old woman from Northampton was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, with serious injuries where she remains.
The Toyota driver, a 45-year-old man from Milton Keynes, was also taken to hospital but was not seriously injured and is helping officers with their inquiries.
Sergeant Mark Atkins, of the BCH Road Policing Unit, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone with any information – anyone who was in the area at the time, witnessed the collision or the driving of either vehicle beforehand, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
“The collision resulted in the A1 southbound being shut for a considerable amount of time and we would also like to thank motorists in the area for their patience and understanding.”
Anyone with any information is urged to contact police via our website quoting incident 376 of 22 August. Anyone without internet access should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit.
