A drug dealer who hid a package of cocaine in his car gear stick has been jailed.
Aregli Shurdhi was pulled over by police on Speedwell Close, Fulbourn, on 21 September after officers suspected the var he was driving was involved in drug deals.
Inside the car officers found a bag of cocaine concealed within the gear stick.
Shurdhi, 21, of Cricket Road, Oxford, also had £360 in cash and two sim cards in his possession.
At Peterborough Crown Court yesterday (6 November), Shurdhi was sentenced to two years and five months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of a false identity document with intent and possession of criminal property.
Sergeant Amanda Rossiter said: “We have a vital role in preventing drugs from reaching our streets and ensuring those responsible are brought to justice and the public can play a vital part in this work too. Please continue to report your concerns and suspicions to us.”
