A man has died following a collision on the A142 at Soham today (6 November).
At about 10.25am police received reports of a collision between a Mercedes Actros HGV and a black Mini.
Officers and paramedics attended, but the driver of the Mini, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured. The road is likely to remain closed for some time while recovery takes place.
Detective Inspector Garry Webb said: “A man has tragically lost his life in this collision and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to please get in touch.”
