A woman has been arrested after officers on proactive patrol discovered a suspected brothel in Cambridge.
Officers were patrolling the Histon Road area at 7pm yesterday (20 February) when they visited a flat.
On entering they suspected it may be a brothel, and a 55-year-old woman from Cambridge was arrested. She remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.
Sergeant Carl Fillary said: “Although this arrest was made after proactive patrols by officers, members of the public can also play a vital role in helping us to tackle sexual exploitation, modern slavery and labour exploitation. Information helps us to build a picture of what is happening and could help us safeguard potential victims.
“If anyone has any suspicions at all in their local area then we’d urge them to report them to us.”
