Police are appealing for information after a silver 16th Century chalice worth thousands of pounds was stolen from a village church.
Thieves broke into All Saints and St Andrews Church, in Church Lane, Kingston, near Cambridge, between 25 September and 1 October and stole the chalice from a safe.
The chalice has the inscription, “FOR THE TOWEN OF KINGSTON”.

PC Hannah Watkins said: “We’re urging anyone who spotted any suspicious activity in the area or who has seen the chalice for sale to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
Anyone with information about the theft should contact police via their web chat service or online forms at www.cambs.police.uk/report quoting 35/71217/22. Anyone without internet access should call 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
