Police are appealing for witnesses after two elderly people were victims of a distraction burglary in a village near Ely.
A man knocked on the door of the victims’ home in Haddenham at about 10pm on Monday (16 May) and said he had come to check the gas boiler.
When the victims refused him entry, the man put his foot in the door and forced his way into the house, taking two mobile phones, the charge point and a purse.
The suspect, described as a large man, then left the scene in a green Volvo.
PC Andy Smith said: “This was a terrifying incident for the vulnerable victims and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen a green Volvo in Haddenham at about 10pm on Monday (16 May) to get in touch with police immediately.”
