A man from Peterborough has been charged with stealing two bicycles in the city centre.
The 40-year-old from Dogsthorpe was arrested in Midgate, central Peterborough, by our response police officers at about 4.15pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 14 June).
He has been charged with two counts of theft of a bicycle, both on 13 June, from Cathedral Square and outside Asda in Viersen Platz, as well as going equipped for theft, namely being in possession of bolt cutters.
He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 15 June).
Advice on how to best protect your bike from thieves can be found on the force website here.
