Teenage girl sentenced for drug dealing

14 Oct 2021

A teenage girl has been sentenced for dealing class A drugs.

Officers from the Cambridge Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a warrant in Kingfisher Way in February last year (2020).

Inside 18-year-old Chloe Hawes’ bedroom they found 28 packages of cannabis, 19 packages of heroin and 49 packages of crack cocaine along with some scales, a knife and £345 in cash.

At Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday (7 October), Hawes, who had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, was given a nine-month custodial sentence, suspended for two years.

PC Adam Catling, from the Cambridge Neighbourhood Team, said: “Dealing drugs, whatever your age, is a criminal offence and we hope this sentence sends as a warning to other young people who might be tempted to enter the world for what might first appear as easy money.

“The suspended sentence now allows this teenager to get the help she needs to get her young life back on track.”
