Warrant to tackle drug dealing in Cambourne

10 Jun 2021

Neighbourhood officers have carried out a warrant to tackle drug dealing in Cambourne.

The South Cambs team were acting on intelligence received from members of the public, as well as recent incidents, of Xanax, a controlled class C drug, being dealt in the area.

This morning officers attended an address in Glebe Lane where they seized class C drugs (including Xanax) and weapons including knives and a baseball bat. An 18-year-old man has been voluntarily interviewed for drugs offences. He has since been released under investigation.

Sergeant Rob Taylor from the South Cambs Neighbourhood Team said: “Xanax is a prescription drug, which in the wrong hands and when mixed with other drugs, could prove fatal.

“I would urge the community to continue to report any information they have around drug dealing and misuse.”
